Welcome to the Sol Palace Community. While we appreciate your contribution, as well as encourage it, we would like to take the time now to explain the General Rules and Guidelines for the community. Please bear in mind that the Rules are only a general outline, meaning that the Site Rules is not limited to what you see below. That being said, the Administrators and the Moderator Team cannot be held responsible for information missing from the General Rules and Guidelines, as well as content being posted on the forums. By posting here, it is expected that each user has an idea of General Posting Etiquette, and already know what is acceptable and unacceptable on the forums. Furthermore; by posting, you acknowledge and fully understand the General Rules and Guidelines, and will accept responsibility for all material posted under your profile and will accept reprimand in the event that any of your posting material is found to be in violation of the General Rules and Guidelines.
Please take the time to read the subsections below...
Spam and Off-Topic PostingIt is asked that users refrain from posting excessive message containing little to no value in topics where it would not be warranted. Excessive amounts will cause the forum to run at slower speeds, and cause problems for everyone. Spam is also something that is disorganized. It is also considered spam by bumping a topic that has not been posted in for a period of one year or more, it is asked that you not revive dead topics, and instead: create a new one. We will; however, have a special topic set up in the "Lounge" forum where spam is sanctioned. With spam, comes off-topic posting. Off-topic posting and spam are two different things. Off-topic posting is actually attempting to change the subject of the forum from it's intended subject, or discussing different topics than what the topic is originally designed for. While the odd off-topic post every now and then is okay, it is asked that you keep the thread to the original topic at hand. If you have something else you wish to discuss, you are more than welcome to create a new thread.
Questionable Content; Personal Attacks; TrollingQuestionable content is questionable. There is a wide variety of topics that are considered questionable. These include, but are not limited to: posting content (and links to content) that is abusive, sexually-oriented, threatening, vulgar, hateful, obscene, provoking, sexist, racist, misleading, intentionally inaccurate, harassing, profane, privacy invading, persuasive toward illegal behavior, or contains viruses or other malicious code. If you feel that what you may post may be questionable, yet not included on this list, then please save yourself the trouble and not post it. Included in Questionable Content is profanity, which will not be tolerated on these forums. We have a censor filter in place on these forums for a reason, and it is asked that you allow it to censor the profanity completely, or use a different word altogether. Extending Questionable Content, we come to personal attacks and trolling, which are intertwined to each other. Hate posting, bullying and trolling other users (including Moderators and Administrators) is completely unacceptable. If you disagree with the opinions of another user, a difference of opinion can be expressed in a civilized manner. Lastly: the posting of personal information is considered questionable content. Do not under any circumstances post anything that could be considered personal information. This includes, but is not limited to: your name, street address, IP address, and other personal information.
PiracyWe have a very swift and strict policy in regards with Piracy. Absolutely under any circumstances are to be links to any torrents, pirated material, illegal emulators, etc. This rule is not limited to software (including game roms), imagery, movies, music, and other copyrighted material. The discussion of piracy is okay on the forums, but is discouraged. Any user caught in violation of this rule will be permanently removed.
Signature and AvatarsOn these forums, the user population has the privilege to use custom avatars and custom signature. Such privileges comes with rules for their use. Signatures and Avatars will be governed by the
Questionable Content; Personal Attacks; Trolling segment of the rules. Any user in violation will receive a warning, and may lose these privileges upon any offense that follows the first warning.
Also, A Reminder...These rules are a General Guideline. What is posted here is not limited to what you read. If you feel that what you are about to post may violate the rules, then do not post. If you really need to post it, but are unsure, then please, contact a Moderator or an Administrator and we will be glad to help. Furthermore, we have Moderators and Administrators for a reason. These individuals have the exclusive right to alter, remove, merge, and delete posts and topics that are against Forum Policy. In addition, we have the right to issue warnings, and remove users who are in violation of said rules. The Administrators have the right to remove users in the event of receiving multiple warnings, or after a serious infraction. However; there may be time that errors happen. In the event of an error, please contact a Moderator and Administrator and we will investigate any errors, and if it is find that an error did happen, we will endeavor to correct them.
Last but not least: please remember that we may update these rules in the future, and may not have the chance to give advance notice. We will endeavor to give advance notice of any change of the rules and when it will come into effect. It is encouraged that you check back on these rules from time to time to make sure that you are familiar and upto date on them.
Thank you for taking the time for reading the General Rules and Guidelines.
